TRAINING FOR ATHLETES

Connecting Meaning to Movement

introducing me

Morijah Thomas is a dance educator, strength and conditioning coach, and dance science advocate dedicated to transforming the competitive dance space through evidence-based training.

She holds a BFA in Dance with minors in Music and Art Therapy from The University of the Arts and is a certified Franklin Method® Educator. Morijah furthered her specialization by earning her MSc in Dance Science from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, a globally recognized leader in dance training and research.

While in London, Morijah served as a Strength and Conditioning Support Coach at The Royal Ballet School, where she helped design and implement training programs. Her work included physical screenings, performance tracking, and assisting in rehabilitation protocols, equipping dancers with the tools to train intelligently, safely, and sustainably.

Morijah is also a board member of The Bridge Dance Project, an organization committed to closing the gap between traditional competitive dance training and dance science. In addition, she travels nationally as guest faculty for multiple dance conventions, sharing her expertise with dancers and educators across the country.

Her teaching philosophy is rooted in a student-centered approach that blends biomechanics, conditioning, and mindset training. Rather than simply giving corrections, Morijah empowers dancers to develop body awareness, autonomy, and confidence which allows them to fully embody their movement and reach their highest potential.

Morijah has had the privilege of training and performing with renowned artists including Doug Varone, Robert Battle, Jesse Zaritt, Andrea Miller, Tommie Waheed-Evans, Katie Swords Thurman, Annie Rigney, and Sidra Bell. Drawing from this diverse background, she brings a dynamic, holistic perspective to every space she enters.
